Inspection Success
We are pleased to share the highlights from the latest Ofsted inspection report for Broadlands Hall School, conducted from October 22 to 24, 2024. We are delighted that the school has been judged as meeting the independent school standards and that the effectiveness across all key areas has been rated as Good:

Key Findings:
- Positive Environment: Pupils are happy and well-supported by passionate and dedicated staff who understand their individual needs and help them re-engage with education.
- High Expectations: The school has high expectations for behaviour and learning, with clear routines that help pupils manage their emotions and perform well academically.
- Extra-Curricular Activities: Pupils value their extra-curricular activities, which are varied and include cycling, zoo visits, and going to view the FA Cup, which enrich their school experience.
- Curriculum: The curriculum is well-adapted to meet the needs of all pupils, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed.
- Reading and Phonics: Reading is a high priority, with well-trained staff helping pupils develop confidence and fluency in reading and communication strategies.
- Personal Development: The personal, social, health, and economic (PSHE) education curriculum is strong, teaching pupils about important topics like substance abuse and the ‘wow days’ as part careers programme enable provide pupils with opportunities to experience a taste of the world of work.
- Safeguarding and Wellbeing: The school keeps pupils safe. The arrangements for safeguarding are effective with staff understanding how to raise concerns in line with the school’s procedures and the school seeks support from external professionals when needed.
The inspectors visited lessons and took the opportunity to meet with staff, pupils, and students, who enjoyed the opportunity to show them their experience of Broadlands Hall School. Parents and the Local Authority were also spoken to during the three day visit.
As part of the inspection report, there were areas for improvement identified. These include adapting teaching based on pupils’ understanding, ensuring consistency in assessment across subjects to inform this. As the school grows, the report also identified it needs to refine its systems for monitoring attendance, safeguarding and behaviour to ensure all pupils are supported effectively. The school is committed to continuous improvement and addressing these areas identified for development.
In summary, our school continues to provide a supportive and effective learning environment for its pupils, with dedicated staff and a strong curriculum.
